Jim Altieri (born 1978) is a spectrologist living in Thailand.

He grew up in Mahopac, New York, and attended Oberlin College and the Oberlin Conservatory. He lived in Portland, Oregon for a year, where he submersed himself in free improvisation. He has worked as a music teacher, a photograph developer, a research assistant, a computer help-desk consultant, and a computer programmer.
