I've added some information on the early cars based on what was available in Australia (I owned two of them, and drove one from new for eighteen years, and was quite a fanatic at one stage). The article is not now quite consistent, and I don't have the information to complete it. The problem is, the original 323 series was such a success in Australia that over the years Mazda sold several completely different cars under that badge! I expect it was the same in other areas. Images in multigenerational sidebars

I've noticed that the sidebar has images of each generation 323 directly above the header bar for that 323. This is consistent with pages that have a single generation in the sidebar, but gives exactly the wrong impression to a user who isn't familiar with why the sidebar looks the way it does. For example, the photograph of the 1992 323 (the one that looks like it's belching smoke) seems as if it belonged to the Mark 2 category, not the Mark 3.

I'd like to suggest that you place the images directly below the sidebar. This is inconsistent with single-generation sidebars, but as long as we keep all the multigeneration sidebars identical, it shouldn't be much of a problem. I've made exactly this modification on the Toyota Camry page, and it's very obvious what information belongs where.

I'm bringing this up so someone familiar with the background of the page can comment on it first. I'll stop by in a few weeks—if nothing has been commented on (or changed), then I'll go ahead and make the changes myself. --Milkmandan 04:34, 2004 Dec 23 (UTC)

Sounds good to me. Let's make this change! --SFoskett 15:46, Dec 23, 2004 (UTC)

Protegé

Does anyone know where does the name Protegé comes from ?Hektor 00:25, 27 September 2005 (UTC)

323C

This type was also designated BA in Europe, just like the 323F...

The non-Familia Neos I've seen here in Ireland just say "323" on them. Maybe it's different with LHD models - any confirmation on this? --Zilog Jones 23:03, 5 January 2006 (UTC)

Merge to Mazda Familia

It is quite confusing and counter-productive to have this page, when the Familia page also exists with largely similar information, and as far as I know all 323s have been based on Familia models (except the Lantis, but that could be explained easily). This should be either a redirect page, or just a short page listing which Mazdas have been sold as 323s over the years. --Zilog Jones 23:14, 5 January 2006‎ (UTC)
