I am afraid that you are confusing Kazakhs (Kazah in Ru:) with cossacks (Kazak in Ru: ) Mikkalai 20:12, 25 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Hello! If you're going to add flags to Gallery of national flags it'd be nice if you made sure that there were still four on each line. The whole thing looks a bit odd now, as East Turkestan has pushed Egypt over into a column off its own on the right. Also, in List of national flags you put it in the wrong place in the alphabet, which I've now changed. Just thought I'd let you know. Scurra 17:35, 26 Apr 2004 (UTC)

  • Ok!, I see the flag was taken off anyway. Dawit

List of People by Name

[edit]

Thanks for adding

*Mather, Percy C., pioneer missionary to Eastern Turkestan

into the LoPbN tree.
It would appear that on LoPbN Ma, you chose the "Name Ma" link instead of the "Mat" one. LoPbN name Ma is for people with that two letter surname. I moved your guy next to Cotton Mather on LoPbN Mat.

You may want to think about what other articles should refer to him. Being an orphan article is not sufficient to cause deletion, but it can contribute. (However, IMO, LoPbN entries can stay even when the corresponding bio is considered too obscure for retention.)

Hope you'll keep up the good work. [smile] --Jerzy(t) 19:13, 2004 May 10 (UTC)

  • Thanks Jerzy!

Mongolian romanization

[edit]

I use this method (a rough draft) for modern Mongolian names. My purpose is to standardize the romanization in English Wikipedia. As you know, Mongolian names have irritating spelling variants and there seems no standard. Khalkha Mongolian is better. Classical Mongolian is really horrible. If you consider the compatibility with hPhags-pa script or reconstruction from Chinese characters, the situation becomes even worse! That's my concern. Let me hear your opinion. --Nanshu 00:58, 3 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Unspecified source for Image:Abai.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Abai.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 22:28, 31 March 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 22:28, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
