Album Classification
[edit]Shouldn't Ghost's new album, 12 Reasons, be put under his Collaborations instead of Studio Albums? He collaborates with ONE producer for the album, Adrian Younge, so I believe thats where it should be placed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.228.145.233 (talk) 13:11, 19 April 2013 (UTC)
- I second this, along with Twelve Reasons to Die II and 36 Seasons. Wufan10304 (talk) 20:33, 26 March 2017 (UTC)
Slanderous Material
[edit]The assertion that Ghostface Killah "hit it raw aplenty" and cited by source 7 ^ Ghostface & Prodigy "Trials Of Life", accessed on March 21, 2007 leads to a false link. This should be removed as it is clearly not true. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.81.101.218 (talk) 20:28, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
lyric quotes
[edit]Note: On "Ice Water" off of "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx..." Raekwon says "To top it all off, beef with WIFE" not "White" check the context of the song
- No, this is untrue. The lyric is "beef with White" referencing Notorious B.I.G., as Biggie would later respond back in his track "Kick in the Door": "This goes out for those that choose to use/Disrespectful views on the King of NY/Fuck that, why try, throw bleach in your eye." Rae & Ghost were infamously involved in a long ongoing feud with Biggie Smalls, and Method Man's friendship and collaboration with Bad Boy Records ("All I Need" ft. Mary J. Blige Bad Boy Remix & Biggie's "The What") is the only factor which held these two camps at bay and the beef from going any further than subliminal disses on their records. Ghostface Killah v. Ghostface
[edit]This has been moved back and forth, and I stand by my opinion that it should be under just Ghostface. See this quote from his official bio, for instance:
- Who's gonna take the weight? In these days and times--the last days--for a multitude of reasons, this is the question at hand. And, if ever there was any doubt, the answer is, of course, none other than Ghostface (the artist formerly known as Ghostface Killah, or GFK, to friends). / http://www6.defjam.com/site/artist_bio.php?artist_id=485
I don't entirely oppose using Ghostface Killah in some places in the article though, since it's used at a few places on his official site (http://www6.defjam.com/site/artist_home.php?artist_id=485), but his name is Ghostface.
I'm not moving the page yet though, preventing an edit war. Please express your views here.

Cover of "Fishscale" indicates he's Ghostface Killah again. 219.89.23.13 21:54, 23 February 2006 (UTC)
- Allright, I've changed my mind, I agree with keeping Killah.
Just move it to Dennis Coles. A lot simpler to use his real name. mad_cat_42 04:09, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
I second using Dennis Coles. 71.127.255.234 15:20, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
Tony Stark/Iron Man References
[edit]The name of Iron Man is Tony Stark, not Starks. Which does Ghostface actually go by? Is he using the name wrong, or is the article wrong?
- Ghostface uses Starks
- he also uses "toney" instead of "tony"
- Ghostface uses Starks
Why does he use the name of this particular character anyway? Do they have something in common? Or is he just Killah's favorite comic book character?
- Yeah the second one,he's huge comic book fan.
Just a guess, but amybe it's becuse he used to wear that mask? Metal Mask -> Iron Mask -> Ironman? I think we should include some photos of him with the mask too. (Rishi B 14:00, 17 August 2006 (UTC))
He goes by Tony Starks, and I suppose it's just because Tony Stark aka Iron Man is a rich playboy, like Ghostface is or thinks he is.
From an Onion AV Club interview:
- AVC: What attracted you to the character of Iron Man?
- GK: I was Tony Starks [sic.] first, and then Tony Starks and the Iron Man is the same dude, so that, I guess, that could be the other side of me. That was it.
- AVC: Are you into comic books?
- GK: No. I just had this shirt and it was a Tony Starks shirt, and when I put it on… that was it. It just felt like, "This is what it is now."
Tony Stark is rich and powerful. Ironman is encased in a protective suit of armor, and does battle in single combat. Not hard to see the appeal. --Mrflip (talk) 02:26, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
Hmm
[edit]Ghostface is too fucking ill, he's my 2nd favorite Wu member (with Raekwon being 1st), and on my top 10 list. He played a big part in "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx..." which is top 5 for me, and also "Supreme Clientele" which is top 15.--Tainted Drifter 08:05, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit]It was Raekwons voice on Supreme Clientele not Ghostace on the clyde smith skit. =) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 195.194.222.10 (talk) 11:52, 11 December 2006 (UTC).
5% or sunni?
[edit]Look, I think it'd be awesome if Ghostface was Sunni, but is he? I find lots of articles stating it as fact, but have yet to find the source article. All lyrical evidence seems to suggest he's still 5% (except lost underwater) Does anyone have any information on this?
Big ups for putting up that link. That's really neat! I'ma check if he's added to "muslim rappers" and so forth.
Ghosface is a 5%, not a sunni. You can hear that through his lyrics. The 5% nation has nothing to do with the "mainstream Islam" or the sunni Islam or other tradional islamic persuasions, on the contrary, it contradicts them even.Elvis214 (talk) 15:07, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
This article should mention hating whites
[edit]Shouldn't there be some mention in this article about this artist's race hatred (of whites)? What do you think a 'Ghostface' is? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.198.202.79 (talk) 03:01, 30 November 2007 (UTC) Or am I not understanding something in "Ghostface Killah"? 71.198.202.79 05:48, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
The name ghostface killah is from a 1979 cult kung fu film "The Mystery of Chess Boxing". Alot of the members from wu-tang clan have names originating from this film. It isn't racist in any way at all
Yeah, that is perhaps the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. While we're at it, let's talk about how Eminem and Marilyn Manson are the same person! M & M=MM=Marilyn Manson! HOLY CRAP! I TOO CAN FIND HIDDEN MEANINGS IN NAMES WITHOUT DOING ANY RESEARCH —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.247.199.238 (talk) 08:35, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
Aliases Section
[edit]I noticed the aliases section had been pulled. Rap aliases are more than just nicknames or stage names: they are notable artistic choices. Ghostface has several developed personae he raps through, each with their own backstory. He is extensively credited and referenced by several of them (particularly Tony Starks). You can't tell a complete story about GFK without describing his experimentation with roles, fronts, names and personae. --Mrflip (talk) 02:33, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
Relationship with Raekwon
[edit]I seem to remember that Ghostface Killah and Raekwon are half-brothers. I don't have a source to back this up, but, if true, I think it's an important bit of information, especially since the two of them collaborate very closely, and (in my opinion) have voices which are similar in some ways. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.249.213.41 (talk) 22:56, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
- I've never heard that and am pretty sure I would have at some point were that a well-known fact [stupid -ed.]. Obviously GZA, RZA, and ODB were cousins but I don't know of any direct familial relations beyond that. A Google search doesn't turn up any sources on this either, so it's not something we can include at this point since it's likely untrue and definitely not verifiable at the moment.--Bigtimepeace | talk |
- There are familial relations beyond that. Some of each family's married into the others. "My seeds, roll with his seeds, marry his seeds/That's how we keep Wu-Tang money all up in the family." Well, art became true as this actually happened. Not sure on Rae & Ghost being brothers as they were drug runner rivals the summer before Wu-Tang was formed and both involved in crossfire shootouts at each other. However, RZA lived at Ghostface's apartment in Stapleton during that time so he was the one to settle that feud when he formed Wu. It would have come out if they found out they were brothers, since before that all that is known is they knew of each other since both lived only a housing project away from one another. RZA also went with Ghost to Ohio where he met the Killarmy members and was involved in drug running there, all without Rae. Wufan10304 (talk) 20:59, 26 March 2017 (UTC)
contribs 05:20, 11 January 2009 (UTC) No, I've also read interviews with them stating that they are half-brothers. I'm not sure if they grew up in the same household together, but they share a mother. 196.215.50.173 (talk) 21:42, 21 August 2011 (UTC)

Unsourced material
[edit]I noticed that STATicVerseatide (talk · contribs) made an edit to a biography of a living person, Ghostface Killah, but that he didn't support his changes with a citation to a reliable source. "Supreme Clientele Presents... Blue & Cream: The Wally Era" album?
[edit]I think the information about this album should be deleted. All sources saying about it are from 2011-13. Wu-Tang Clan members are known to announce a numbers of project, which are not released in years (sometimes never). We ought to add this album when it's really released or Ghost has released a single from it Tashi Talk to me 12:34, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
- Disagree. This album will be released. It is Ghost's Cuban Linx II. Wufan10304 (talk) 21:08, 26 March 2017 (UTC)

Discography Album Moves
[edit]Hello, I moved three Ghostface Killah projects from artist studio solo albums to collaboration albums. Twelve Reasons to Die I&II are direct collaborations with American composer Adrian Younge and with narrations by RZA and co-star verses by Raekwon on part II. There have been interviews where Ghost states the concept and production was brought to him and he did not come up with the ideas for these albums. They are not his creation. He played one role on these albums and that was to come in after all the work was already done and play the main character. Other rappers were brought in to play other characters. Ghostface was chosen for these projects. He has made it clear several times these were not his ideas or pieces of work, they are not true solo albums by him. He makes it clear that Blue & Cream is his next solo album. I have seen tons of YouTube videos where he says this time and again. The correct titles are even billed as Adrian Younge presents Twelve Reasons to Die starring Ghostface Killah. The same is true for 36 Seasons, which is a collaboration with RZA's Soul Temple live band The Revelations, in which he again states in multiple interviews (here's the one with Spin) that the production and script was brought to him and all he had to do was write his parts and record it. These are not his true solo albums and he did not create the projects. Supreme Clientele presents... Blue & Cream: The Wally Era is billed to be his tenth full studio solo album, following 2010's Apollo Kids. Wufan10304 (talk) 21:36, 26 March 2017 (UTC)
- Someone has taken the liberty of reverting my placing these collaboration albums where they belong edits and placing them back under studio albums without one word anywhere who it was or why it needed to be reverted. I have followed the proper channels by posting a discussion topic in this Talk page explaining why it is needed, as well as in the Edit Summaries. If you choose to revert, please do the same, follow the Wikipedia policies and explain your decision for the reverts. Otherwise I will keep putting them where they belong. Please note I am not starting an edit war. I am going through proper channels here. Thank you. Cheers. Wufan10304 (talk) 19:17, 9 April 2017 (UTC)
- Sources for proof that Twelve Reasons to Die, 36 Seasons, and Twelve Reasons to Die II are actually collaboration albums and not studio albums.
- Twelve Reasons to Die: Pitchfork "This collaboration between L.A. producer Adrian Younge's soul-steeped live band and Ghostface Killah..."
- Twelve Reasons to Die II: AllMusic "This second 2015 LP reunites the Wu-Tang rapper with film composer Adrian Younge and acts as a sequel to the pair's 2013 Twelve Reasons to Die."
- 36 Seasons: Spin Q&A with Ghostface "Did The Revelations give you music to write to or did you tell them, “I need this kind of beat for this kind of scene?” "The production brought the music to me, the script to me." | HotNewHipHop "The Revelations, a Brooklyn-based soul band, is a perfect choice for a collaboration."
- Please stop edit warring or I will report this. Wufan10304 (talk) 06:28, 18 April 2017 (UTC)
- Here is proof (Interview posted to YT /SLIvgBZ9IFM at the 3:08 mark) of Ghost saying himself that the Adrian Younge projects and ones like these are not his true solo albums, inferring that they are collaborative efforts. ("I did a lot of projects. My true solo albums, the ones that are just me, without the Adrian Younge's and all that...") As I stated above, the actual title of 12 Reasons I&II are also billed as Adrian Younge Presents Twelve Reasons to Die starring Ghostface Killah. Please stop reverting changes. Let's list these albums proper and not based on user opinion now. I have listed the reasons & proof multiple times now, and I am starting to report reverts for ignoring policy.
