Hi, I saw your question on Wikipedia:Help desk. Thanks for the offer. Whether or not to make a separate article depends on the length of the topic. For example, our article on MoveOn.org is so detailed that History of MoveOn.org got sent to a separate article; other articles keep it in one place. It's really a judgement call, and I think the best way is just to put it into the hang gliding article; someone else will fix it if it's too long.
On a more general note, welcome to Wikipedia! You might want to look at our Wikipedia:Guide for Everything2 noders. You already know about the help desk; another good place to get help editing is Wikipedia:Tutorial. And one final note--on discussion pages like this one, or the help desk, you can sign your name by using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Using 4 tildes adds a timestamp.
