[edit]Cibo Matto recorded a cover of Soundgarden's Black Hole Sun.
Just how noteworthy is this? Covers are recorded all the time. Vague Rant 08:20, Sep 5, 2004 (UTC)
Appearance on Buffy the Vampire Slayer
[edit]Just random Cibo Matto trivia: On the first episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer's second season, Cibo Matto appeared on the show as themselves performing at the club "The Bronze". When Seth Green's character "Oz" becomes recurring, he has a poster of Cibo Matto on his wall. I guess Joss Whedon was a fan?
They also have a song on the Jet Set Radio Future soundtrack from the XBOX game created by SEGA.
- Yeah, I guess that's worth adding. I met a couple people who knew Cibo Matto from Buffy. I never saw it though. --Carl 12:10, 25 May 2005 (UTC)
- We really should note te Jet Set Radio Future song, it's how I also first heard of them, "Birthday Cake" is the name btw DCJoeDog 20:15, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
Songs Featured in Lady in the Water (2006)
[edit]Both "Spoon" and "Flowers" were played in the film; however, neither song appears on the film soundtrack.
"(At Home With The) Singles" Compilation
[edit]Does anyone know about this? It is a two-disc compilation of rare songs by Cibo Matto, including songs from the Butter 08 side project and some tracks from their EPs and singles, as well as many seemingly exclusive, unreleased tracks. Is this an official release or just a bootleg? I can't seem to find any information about it, but copies of it are floating around via file sharing methods, including authentic-looking album art.

- I recently came across it. I'm pretty certain it's a bootleg. I tried to search for CD copies of it, but no such luck. The art is relatively average, it looks like it could have been put together by some fans. It's a nice idea, and would be good for collective purposes if it were an official compilation, but unlike all the other releases listed on the page, there are no official sources listing it. Stereotype or Stereo Type?
[edit]The article lists their second album as Stereo Type A while other sources I've seen have Stereotype A. The official page apparently uses the latter spelling. On the album cover of course there is a star between the two words. So which is the correct spelling? Elcalen (talk) 11:32, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
- Nearly three years later, ha ha, but... It's pretty confusing. It's probably best to just leave it as is. The star makes the title seem like it's two separate words, even though the lyrics in the booklet say "stereotype A". They're separated a lot on the Internet as well. Personally, I think it's supposed to be two separate words, as a pun on stereotype, and stereo (music/radio), but it's probably one of those things that can't be officially sorted.
