Appalled
[edit]From reading through the Talk tab as well as various sections of the article, it is clear that many of you have no business editing this article. Unless you have extensive experience in researching aliʻi I suggest you refrain from editing this article.
One of many issues I have with this article: Kalani Paiʻea Wohi o Kaleikini Kealiʻikui Kamehameha o ʻIolani i Kaiwikapu kauʻi Ka Liholiho Kūnuiākea is in fact NOT the full name of the aliʻi. Rather, they are an accumulation of names he has been given throughout his lifetime and should remain separate. There are also several missing names, such as: Kaʻiwakīloumoku (the ʻiwa bird that hooks the islands). His name given at birth is Paiʻea, and the name he is most famous for is Kamehameha (the lonely chief). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Harobins (talk • contribs) 22:04, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
Death date discrepancy
[edit]In the lede and the text we say he died on 8 or 14 May, yet in the infobox he died on 10 May. Is this a third valid possibility or just a typo? -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 23:41, 15 August 2021 (UTC)
- Typo. The sources say 8 or 14. ~Anachronist (talk) 02:23, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
Sex
[edit]Is it safe to assume that in the genealogical table "k" and "w" stand for kane and wahine? 104.153.40.58 (talk) 01:22, 24 September 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, I think so. Every 'k' corresponds to a male and every 'w' corresponds to a female as far as I can tell. ~Anachronist (talk) 06:02, 24 September 2021 (UTC)

It took me half an hour to find the page I was looking for because this article is missing the "did you mean?" box. Is there a reason for that? It doesn't even link to it's own page, it links to this

I don't know anything about the previously mentioned edit war or trolling or viral marketing but come on, it is a legitimate topic. It has had multiple Guinness book world records.
I'm adding it unless someone can at least explain why Wikipedia is forcing zero references on the top Google page and wasting people's time on purpose.
I am not siding with the fans on any past behaviors, I'm certain they are annoying, probably even encouraged by viral marketers. And I am in no way disrespecting or dismissing Hawaiian heritage. I love Hawaii. I'd gladly come visit if I could afford it.
I just know many/most people clicking here from Google just don't want their time wasted, I know I don't.
