Hello and welcome to Wikipedia! Hope you like it here, and stick around.
Here are some tips to help you get started:
- To sign your posts (on talk pages, for example) use the '~' symbol. To insert just your name, type ~~~ (3 tildes), or, to insert your name and timestamp, use ~~~~ (4 tildes).
- Try the Tutorial, and feel free to experiment in the test area.
- If you need help, post a question at the Help Desk
- Eventually, you might want to read the Manual of Style and Policies and Guidelines.
- Remember Wikipedia:Neutral point of view
- Explore, be bold in editing pages, and, most importantly, have fun!
Good luck!

You have been warned about creating nonsense under anon IPs before this evening, please stop or you will be blocked from editing wikipedia. -- Graham ☺ | Talk 22:49, 30 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Iisaphd I find that unpossible[sic]. I've never used wiki before today.
If you want I can find the IP under which the same nonsense stub was created containing exactly the same content as that which I deleted, created by this username. It was created earlier this evening.
- At 22:39 on 30 Nov 2004, User:170.148.92.18 created Matthew McLaurine (speedily deleted as obvious vanity)
- At 22:42 on 30 Nov 2004, the same user created Mclaurine (speedily deleted as obvious vanity)
- At 22:46 on 30 Nov 2004, you recreated Mclaurine (speedily deleted as obvious vanity)
- At 22:47 on 30 Nov 2004, you created McLaurine (speedily deleted as obvious vanity)
- At 22:49 on 30 Nov 2004, you created Matt McLaurine (speedily deleted as obvious vanity)
Are you denying that any of these edits are yours? -- Graham ☺ | Talk 23:29, 30 Nov 2004 (UTC)
No, I was referring to your statement, "You have been warned about creating nonsense under anon IPs before this evening". I thought you were saying that I had been warned before (tonight) and was being a repeat offender. Sorry for taking your time. I did not realize that you could not create an entry for yourself. I was only trying to see the Wiki concept in action. Although I have used the encyclopedia before myself, I never knew what "Wiki" was until today. Iisaphd 01:50, 1 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Please excuse my bad grammar, there should have been a comma between before and this evening. -- Graham ☺ | Talk 11:42, 1 Dec 2004 (UTC)
