Rainbow Bridge

[edit]

Hi Cunningham - the way to leave a message to someone else is to view their user page and then click the "Discussion" tab, and leave a message. Or you can just type "User talk:Lir", or whoever, in the "search" box, and click "go". Then edit the page. Next time the person logs on, a message at the top will say "You have new messages" with a link.

On Rainbow Bridge, I remembered buying the LP at a swap meet 20 years ago. Somewhere it sits, molding. I was briefly excited to see that it was collectible, but then my rigorous check on its collectibility was to do an ebay search, where it appears to cost five bucks for a better version than mine. Nevermind, I see it's on their website now. Thanks for the update :) Would still like to know how you knew this though. K1Bond007 04:49, August 28, 2005 (UTC)

Faversham edit

[edit]

Agreed re your point about Faversham! I tried a more appropriate reference to chavs in the Faversham page this morning.... and also widened the background material about Faversham history and features. Hope someone will now expand and improve it. I became so carried away that I forgot to sign in then (86.137.168.64=--Farsee50 21:04, 1 March 2006 (UTC)!)[reply]

Higham ref

[edit]

Thanks for digging out that ref in Higham, Kent. Do you know if it's still relevant to this page? I moved quite a lot of material from this article to Thames and Medway Canal, and I suspect the Stephen Raynor ref should now be in the canal page only. Somerville and Ross

[edit]

While I have often heard that my cousion of Ross was lesbian, I have yet to see or hear any good evidence backing this up. I am not objecting to her sexuality, if this indeed was the case; just don't see any evidence for it. Unless you have something at least persusaive, I would remove the wording. Hello Cunningham

[edit]

Sorry to be long getting back to you, but you left your comment at the bottom of my user page instead of my talk page. Anyway, as I said, I still have to come across such a direct comment by either of them . Again, I must stress that I am not objecting to their sexuality, if this was indeed the case (more power to them), just that I have never come across anything (yet) to back this up. And I have read a good deal of their corrospondence, and Voilet's journals. If its alright with you, I will remove the reference till someonce can provide a citation. Voilet herself does make clear in her letters that she fancied both her cousion Archer Martin of Toronto and W.B.Yeats. Cheers! Fergananim 18:44, 24 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rothley- and currencies

[edit]

The £ is used in a number of countries. For instance Ireland and England. The pound does not have the same value. Luckily Wikipedia has recorded that the GB£ is different. That way a computer could translate this into any currency.... assuming someone doesnt correct it. Can you fix. Victuallers 10:48, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Cat and mouse.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Cat and mouse.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it may be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 13:56, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Cunningham! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 386 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Your draft article, Goal-running

[edit]

Hello Cunningham. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled Goal-running.

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Goal-running}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot (talk) 14:02, 6 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 1977 Dutch train hostage crisis, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page RMS. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 02:57, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
