[edit]This should probably be a disambiguation page. I was aware that the term "shrinking violet" has other connotations. I was surprised and interested to find-out that she's a character in the DC Comics universe (and that's a nice play on words, and a witty subversion of the original meaning). But I came here looking for the other connotation of the term, and I hope somebody does a write-up on it. I would, but then I don't feel fit for the task (as I came here to rectify that).
Contradictions
[edit]The first appearance in the text and the infobox are contradictionary. ~ Dread Lord CyberSkull ✎☠ 07:22, 2005 August 14 (UTC)
- Fixed - Adventure #365 was actually the first appearance of Shadow Lass. DS 13:02, 15 September 2005 (UTC)

Merge Discussion: Shrinking Violet and Violet (comics)
[edit]Most comic characters have a single article for pre/post-reboot, or even multiple identities (examples: Elastic Lad redirects to Jimmy Olsen, Light Lass redirects to Lightning Lass). The distinction for this character is less significant than for Jimmy or L'Lass, so I believe the articles should be merged. HalJor 22:36, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
- merge - the reasons above. Essentially the same character in different continuities.66.109.248.114 19:01, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
- Merge - maybe as Shrinking Violet (comics)? SpaceCaptain 21:46, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
Sexuality
[edit]I'm writing LGBT themes in comics and have a source that confirms the implied lesbian relationhip, but also that this was ret-conned out during Zero hour.
Hence what is her sexuality now? Is there anything to indicate her being anything other than straigh, post Zero hour? I left the LGBT comic character category, as one incarnation was L or B. But i removed the bisexual fictional characters, as nothing states that the past nor current character was Bi.YobMod 16:27, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
- There hasn't been any indication yet in the "current" or post-IC continuity of her sexuality, to my knowledge. However, the post-Zero Hour continuity version of Salu was pretty clearly heterosexual (at least, she was definitely attracted to the opposite sex and showed no indications of being attracted to the same sex), though in one time-travelly/alternate universy issue they did make a reference to the original version's homosexuality. As for the "threeboot" continuity version of Salu, she wasn't in it a whole lot, and my collection isn't complete, but I never saw any indications of her sexuality at all. The LGBT comic character category definitely needs to stay, though. Nutiketaiel (talk) 16:58, 23 March 2009 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: Your wish is my command. Rather than faffing around I speedied the other redirect, as it was implausible and contained no significant editing history. Fences&Windows 23:35, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
Salu Digby → Shrinking Violet (comics) — This should be an uncontroversial move. It is normal for articles on fictional superheros to be named after the hero, not his civilian identity. This was not here only because of some mixup over disambiguation, I think. I started to do this move myself but I forgot I can't do that anymore, thus I moved the original (redirect) article Shrinking Violet (comics) to Shrinking Violet (comics)x which will have to be moved to Salu Digby with no redirect created. Sorry. Herostratus (talk) 02:59, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
