[edit]Can someone research the truth of this, and rewrite it? The Juice Games and Swordfish Studios articles need similar treatment.--DooMDrat 23:23, May 19, 2005 (UTC)
For full details of the above, UK companies house can provide documentation on the ownership and share dealing. --82.42.155.167 14:16, 22 May 2005 (UTC)
- Well in that case, rewrite what you have written. Its not very encyclopedic as it is.--DooMDrat 15:40, May 22, 2005 (UTC)
I'll be adding more data and lnks over the coming weeks, I felt it important to explain why some people felt that illegal actions had taken place rather than just leave it hanging. for a hint on swordfish try, http://www.gamestats.com/objects/490/490620.html although note the direction of sale is wrong

Location
[edit]I understand from the article that they had facilities in Birmingham. Was that their home city, or was the firm headquartered elsewhere? --Ssbohio 20:46, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
Rage was headquartered in Liverpool, and at one time had studios in Birmingham, Warrington, London, Newcastle, Leeds, Sheffield, Manchester (Software Creations) and Dundee
Censorship
[edit]What's going on with this page? As soon as people post FACTS about the company, they're removed. Behaviour like this doesn't help the credibility of this site at all.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 88.107.52.210 (talk • contribs) .
- Facts what facts?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 87.75.134.82 (talk • contribs) .
- "Facts" need to be backed up with reliable, verifiable sources.--Drat (Talk) 09:12, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
Do you have verifiable sources for the other information on this site? No, you just don't like the facts. But maybe, looking at the money involved and the way all criticism of the management that ran this company have been removed, you just have an ulterior motive. Do a google search on the following... you'll find a reference for each. - Rage was universally admired (Intel demonstrated it's processors using Rage games, so that's a pretty good clue) - Rage's investment in Internet Indirect was ill-fated (how much was the loss?) - Rage could not pay its operating expenses? (they went bankrupt) - Rage bought several other studios nationwide before their demise. - Coincidentally, Internet Indirect was ran by the son of a person who tipped Rage in his tip sheets. So tell me, where is all this (and the other information that has been removed) wrong?
- Anon
- It was not universal admired. Intel paid DID to write demos as did ATI. Rage got that when they were forced to buy DID. Though of cause you probably don't know about that bit of underhand dealing which cost Rage a fortune. Which other software houses did they buy? Rage was closed by it bankers. It had technically been bankrupt for a long time. Subsidiaries of Vivendi did not pay distribution deals. Meanwhile Rage had decided to go for aspirations titles such as Lambourghni. Unfortunately they couldn't live up to their over optimistic delivery dates. They started lowering the life boats 3-9 months before going bust. Quote your references. Why don't you declare yours interest. All of this is business as normal in the computer games industry. What needs verifying that is currently there? COmpanies hous does seem a good reference.--84.9.194.187 20:59, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
Quote your references. Rage's Incoming being used to demo intel chips (http://www.intel.com/pressroom/archive/speeches/asg62097.htm), invests in Internet Indirect (http://www.growthcompany.co.uk/features/3616/is-the-party-over-for-the-internet-incubator-funds.thtml), buys / invests in Wayward Designs (http://www.fool.co.uk/breakfastnews/2000/bn000121.htm) (there were more of these, google them), calls in receivers in Jan 2003 (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/2661771.stm). Now, quote me a reference for Rage buying DID being underhand. Then a reference for how they lowered the lifeboat 3-9 months before going bust. Then... add the info to the main page like I did. My interest / past interest in Rage? Absolutely none. Now what are yours?
- www.gamasutra.com/newswire/eurospeak/19991008.htm. The Companies house reference in the main article will lead you to the list of directors and when they left. I Worked for DID when they did Intel Demo's. Not at the time of the mutany. Knew the people on both sides. Know that the prearranged nature of the deal was exposed by a letter left on a PC by the mutineers leader. Did subcontract for Rage and was owed money. I also forget to mention Rage didn't own there own distibution unlike all other publishers which everyone new was a vunerability but which they would did not fix. Intel using stuff demo's is not a badge woth mentioning.--84.9.195.139 23:31, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
So you don't show a single reference, and you put things about Rage not being publishers (which is relevant for the main article) in a discussion. Take a deep breath my little friend and look at the "rage software" page that you're the self appointed guardian of - it's the worst on the wiki and that's because of you. You don't know what you're doing, what you're talking about or how you're doing it.
- I provided the Gamsutra reference if you do not want to look it up hard look. If you do not want to look up the Companies House Reference again hard look. It sounds much more like your in need of a deep breath until you accept the truth about Rage. Where is 88-107-57-186.dynamic.dsl.as9105.com by the way. I only ask because in the past Don and Colin have tried to edit this an the Juice page to hide their behaviour. I would be at all suprised to find them doing it in another guise? Do you work for THQ. You also not that the claim about Rage distribution is not in the article but in the talk page, so it doesn't need a reference but if you want phone up Dave Brass of GSP and ask him,--84.9.194.111 15:21, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
- Or is it that you have found out that Daddy or his partner is a born again christian crook.--84.9.194.111 18:13, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

Oh no, you're butchering the Juice page as well aren't you. They are both flagged as Neutrality Disputed and they are both simply awful - there's no fact at all, just your jaundiced views. These pages need removing, within hours of someone posting something factual about these companies you remove anything which doesn't project your horrible viewpoint. It's not your site, it's the community's. You don't get that do you? Sorry everyone - for Rage Information (good and bad) it's best to do a google search.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 88.108.81.207 (talk • contribs) .
- Actually it was me that put the NPOV in there. You just posting PR Puff. I didn't write them. I know that they are true and the documentation in places like government records offices etc is far mor acurate. Are you one of Don and Collins lakies then or perhaps there kid. There is plenty on the web aboutr the dark side of Rage. You just want to bury it for some reason. You very sad and unfortunatley to young to realise that you msgs show you age.--84.9.193.87 21:04, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

Me Likum the midnight GT broom broom! does anyone really care about the facts about a company that hasn't existed for a while? what's the point, they're dead and forgotten, move on with your lives people. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.139.79.189 (talk) 15:19, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
lawsuit
[edit]http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2000/jun/01/football.andrewosborn
refers to a lawsuit
- Five software firms are being sued; London-based Sony Computer Entertainment Europe; Electronic Arts; Liverpool-based Rage Games; Info grammes; and Eidos, the maker of the cult game Tomb Raider.
- The matter has been taken up by Jean-Louis Dupont, the lawyer who won the landmark Bosman case which changed the face of European football and brought about changes in the law covering football transfers and foreign players. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Edward Vielmetti (talk • contribs) 05:10, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

Reformatting of games list
[edit]I took a few hours to reformat the games list into something a bit more readable using Template:ListEntry/VG/A2. This is meant to serve as a basic upon which to improve. I imported a lot of information from the games' respective pages.
Cheers. -- SwissTHX11384EB (talk) 20:27, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
